How the bracket works
The field is the top twenty of our Most Iconic ranking, drawn in a different order every time. A play-in round trims twenty down to sixteen, then it is a straight knockout through the quarter-finals and semi-finals. The two beaten semi-finalists meet in a third place play-off before the final, which is what produces a full podium rather than just a winner. Twenty matches from start to finish.
Nothing is submitted anywhere. The bracket in progress and your lifetime win–loss records live in this browser's local storage, so you can leave and come back to the same match, and clearing your browser data resets everything.
