Who they are
The Xenomorph is a life cycle rather than a personality: an egg, a parasite, a host, and then a predator that grows faster than anyone can plan for. Giger's design fused biology and machinery into something that looks wrong at a level below conscious thought, and the film hides it in shadow so the audience assembles the rest. It remains the benchmark for creature design.

- The creature was played by a 6'10" Nigerian design student the crew met in a London pub.
- The acid blood exists mainly as a screenwriting device: it prevents the crew from simply shooting it inside a spacecraft.
