Who they are
Ozai is a final boss in the purest sense: an emperor waging a hundred-year war of extermination who is barely shown until the closing stretch of the series. The show uses him mainly as the source of the damage inflicted on his own children, which makes the eventual confrontation about far more than firepower. Hamill's voice performance is a masterclass in restrained cruelty.
