Who they are
Doom rules a small European nation, holds diplomatic immunity, and combines advanced engineering with genuine sorcery. What makes him great is that his ego is a documented character flaw the stories keep testing: he has saved the world, and he is genuinely certain the planet would be better under his personal management. The armor is also a mask for a face he scarred himself.
